NEW PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT – PEEPS AND EVOLVE are THE ALPHA MALES

March 28th, 2012

IM BAAAACCCK FROM THE LONG HIGHWAY OF HIATUS

I know its been a while inbetween updates but ive been busy as shit with family, work and every other aspect of someone going through a mid-life crisis right now, nah just kidding… but seriously yeah I had a few weeks off work over Christmas, Ive had to do the dad thing and to be really honest I kinda enjoyed the short time I had off from music, but now its back to bidness. Time to step my productivity game up and not let the fans down.
Just recently the last month or so after catching up with some music buddies of mine, they’ve managed to spark up the fire in my belly and release some new music with an album announcement. so here you go:

The Alpha Males are Peeps and Evolve

tall, confident and good looking, better at most things than others.

It’s what every male wants to be and its what every female wants to breed with – THE ALPHA MALE

Promo EP coming soon with production from Vampts of Gravity Ponds and Sublime of Aph Sub

beat was produced by Vampts and was recorded at Peeps the Putrids’ pad

…oh and some more good news here at evantheevolve.com with my album The Dirt Merchant reaching over 500 downloads! BAM! Which means right now I feel quite the sense of achievement seeing as though 500 downloads in the first year was my goal originally before the site was even made. In 2009 I had 500 hard copies pressed off my own back and finances, but now with this whole internet rap game, Ive been able to reach even more people on a broader scale. YESSS

LORD ABORTION SPECIAL (2004 – 2007)

October 31st, 2011

Every now and then Ill have someone come up to me and ask “Ev, whatever happened to that fucking guy, Lord Abortion?” well for all the post-2009 Evolve fans i thought Id air out some dirty laundry about who exactly this was.

Lord Abortion was a pseudonym I was using from about the years 2004 to 2007 to display some of my more hardcore rap stylings when i was an angry young man. Back then I was inbetween jobs and dealing with girlfriend issues alot and basically life just pissed me off. This is a part of me which is now dead but also a part of me which Im proud of the work I put in for it, hence the reason for the update. I performed live a couple of times as the alias and it was fun rolling incognito and being in disguise on the night, decked out in balaclava, labcoat, hood and all.

Here is some unreleased and exclusive footage i found amongst the Evolve archives of Lord Abortion live:

I also kept it in character on the forums at ozhiphop.com complete with CAPS LOCK, swearing and just all around arrogance, swagger and general cuntyness. A couple of people were fair confused at whether or not Lord Abortion was an actual person or not who hijacked my account which was funny as eff at the time.

the forum threads can be found here:
http://ozhiphop.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=62567&page=1#pid1108242

http://ozhiphop.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=35965&page=1

I only recorded a couple of tracks with a couple of guest spots here and there, uploaded them to myspace (when it was most active) and surprisingly it generated a fair bit of buzz. I even had some interest from a couple of horrorcore acts from the US and abroad who were wanting to collaborate with me. Unfortunately I had to tell them that Lord Abortion was just an alias I was using for shits and giggles and is basically now non existent.

my good friend Trials was a fan of the work so he was kind enough to do up a remix back then of one of the guest spots I did with a fellow ozhh.com forum head GlumGallows (BillyBunks):

only now has it been retrieved and uploaded for you all to enjoy.

OH SHET! I cant forget the free music for all your asses! get ya download on, whuddup internet fiends.

Lord abortion live accapella with EDIBLE AUTOPSY (2005) by EvantheEvolve
(Live accapella is exclusive and unheard)

Lord Abortion featuring Glum Gallows – Forbidden Fruit (2006) by EvantheEvolve

Lord Abortion with GlumGallows – Forbidden Fruit TRIALS REMIX by EvantheEvolve
(Trials remix is exclusive and unheard)

once again I should mention that all the tracks I put up on soundcloud are for free download to bump in your ride or whatever. Just click on the arrow on the right of the soundwave and dont forget to follow me on soundcloud for more songs to be released in future updates.

Now on a much sadder note in the last month the Australian hip hop scene has lost two very talented rappers in Robert Hunter of Perth crew SBX and Mandle from the crew MADIZM. I had the pleasure of knowing them both personally and as a matter of fact they both registered their interest in the whole Lord Abortion saga and were always keen Evolve fans. (a short Lord Abortion search of the forums will confirm this)

so im dedicating this months update to both ROBERT HUNTER of SBX and BRAD ‘MANDLE’ LUCAS. They will both be very sorely missed by lots of people and many sincere condolences to their family, friends and crew.

If you havent done so already, be sure to make the effort to check out/buy their music so their legacies and names can live on.

Robert Alan ‘HUNTZ’ Hunter
October 1, 1975 – October 20, 2011

Brad ‘MANDLE’ Lucas

September Update – featuring live radio drops plus other shit

September 22nd, 2011

Its been a couple of months now since I put up the Anti Rappertag and it was quite the storm in a tea cup. It generated a fair discussion on the internet for some time and seeing as though I had some big, well respected names such as Hau from Koolism and Soul Khan from NY putting their two cents in on twitter, I thought id give it a bit more of an official response on here rather than the usual shit-slinging fest it has been in the forums.

most of the discussion about The Anti Rappertag was in this forum thread here:
http://www.ozhiphop.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=125807&page=1

now because a majority of the hate that generated from this came from 360 fans, then let me say this…

Social climbing is the art of stepping on the right people.

and stepping on other people is something that 360 has been doing since day one of his bullshit rap career and he has mastered it to get to the point of where he is on the social ladder right now. Although some were well deserved (Keynote), others were not.
Back in the 360 Foul Child days no one was off limits for this guy, The Hilltop Hoods, Cross-Bred Mongrels, Coxster etc. Well respected heads and veterans in the scene. I mean shiiieet even Lleyton Hewitt and his baby’s mama weren’t safe from 360s verbal rap slayings. An unestablished artist dissing other established artists, who would’ve thunk of it?
But now when I diss him? all of you seem to come out of the woodwork, throw up your hands and say “OH MY GOD HOW DARE ANYONE DISS THE MOST HIGHLY EXALTED 3REE6IXTY”

… fuckouttahere

Also to the people that really hated on it, you seemed to have missed the point of what I was trying to achieve by doing an Anti RapperTag. It was a light hearted and comedic approach to doing something different that hadn’t been done before and I wanted views for it. Considering the amount of rappertags that had been done in Australia and overseas I was quite surprised to youtube search it and find that no one else had made something like this in the past.
Plus alot of it had this happy, fairy bread and cordial, pass the mic to a best buddy kinda aura that just irked me a bit.
Besides If I had gone and spit the best verse anyone had ever heard and put it up for The URT it would’ve only clocked a couple of hundred views, if that. To this date the youtube video as well as the forum thread has reached over 10 000 views. Thanks internet hate campaign!

Now lastly let me set the record straight on how I really feel about 360 personally.
I never said he was a bad rapper. I look forward to and enjoy watching his battles and I think he is good at being witty and clever on the battle circuit. But that’s about it. In my opinion his music is trash and lacks serious balls. I was only being honest in how I felt about his music personally.

I think It’d be good for the both of us as well as the listeners if we went back and forth with diss tracks etc but at the moment the only thing 360 can resort to is leaving petty as comments on facebook and twitter about my weight issues (lol. really?)

oh and this….

really? fucking lol. A+ for effort and professionalism.

The very fact that he has resorted to childish name calling about me having a gut and just all round being on some school girl bully shit, sure goes to show that I probably expected too much from someone who is still living at home with his parents.

anyways enough bitching and onto some other stuff.

my good friends Aph Sub and I caught up with FreshFM host Rudeboy recently and he was kind enough to let us rap in the studio during his Fresh Air Monday night segment. so here tis:

Big ups to Razzy from Counter-Productive Management for the camera work.

and here are the ripped audio I added to soundcloud

Evolve and Sevva live on FreshFM by EvantheEvolve

Evolve live on FreshFM by EvantheEvolve

so there ya have it, stay tuned for the next update because ill be making an announcement to do with a couple of big names involved with the new mixtape Im doing which is gonna drop soon and I may even give you sneak peek at a track or two.

add me on facebook for site update notifications:

enjoy and till next time folks…

STAY UP!

EVOLVE presents- THE ANTI-RAPPERTAG RAPPERTAG FOR THE UNDERGROUND RAPPERTAG RAPPERTAG

July 25th, 2011

For those of you that are new to the concept, Rappertag is an internet phenomena that originated in the US, and involves a rapper that films himself rapping on a camera, then uploads the finished version to Youtube. At the end of each rappers video the main star has to tag someone into the rappertag social circle of friends to keep the ‘virtual cypher’ alive and going. 360 caught onto the idea fairly quick and decided to start an Australian Rappertag and then further down the track from this spawned Underground Rappertag created by Streamlyne, this is the league I was tagged into by Mnops from TMT.

But this time it’s different. This is the Anti-Rappertag by Evolve. The most slept on, underrated, and underestimated rapper/MC/wordsmith doing what he need to do to get the listeners ear.
This is me voicing my frustrations at not being tagged into something numerous times when I asked.
This is me voicing my displeasure at the lack of skill, effort and decision making put into SOME of the videos.

So here you can have it: EVAN THE EVOLVE presents THE ANTI-RAPPERTAG

It is, what it is….

Nothing personal against anyone I mention in the video, the heads that Im down with and friends of mine that get their namedropped in this need not to worry, they know who they are. Anyone that ever meets me in person will usually agree that Im just a quiet, calm, regular level-headed guy just looking for a good time and to gain some attention and notice for something Im good at… finally.

here is the in-the-booth recorded audio of the anti rappertag for those that are interested:

Evolve – The Anti Rappertag by EvantheEvolve
(BEAT produced by MESHA from TAYLOR MADE TACTIX and originally recorded by MNOPS + NIEVE)

Ok, so I tagged this guy called Sevva from APHSUB. This fucking guy Sevva and I we go way back mang. We’ve been good friends and making music together for a long time now. He deserves the tag fo sho.

Here is a track we both did way back in 2006 off of his album ‘Screws Loose’. One of and if not my favorite guest spots Ive ever featured on, this track slams. turn it up loud.

Sevva – Raise The Roof (Ft. Evolve) by EvantheEvolve
(BEAT produced by SUBLIME of APHSUB)

once again all the songs I put up on my soundcloud are free download. click the arrow on the right of the soundwave. make love with it.

enjoy it and remember…

Dont get sand in your vagina because of a lil paper cut, aight.
